In 1845 , the young François Goyard joined Malle Morel as an apprentice , a layetier and packager located at 347 rue St-Honoré, near Place Vendôme.
Morel is the official supplier of the Duchess of Berry.
1848 Meeting of François Goyard and Louis Vuitton.
In 1853 , following the sudden death of his employer François Goyard , he took over and created the Goyard company .
In 1856 , when the streets of Paris were renumbered, 347 would become 233 St-Honoré . The address of the house has never changed since then.
In 1885, his 25-year-old son Edmond Goyard took over the company and renamed it E. Goyard.
Edmond is a visionary with a lot of creativity. He also developed the business by opening four branches. He creates articles for animals and develops automotive products.
In 1900 , it was his first participation in a long list at the Universal Exhibitions. He presents the iconic chevron Goyardine canvas.
Before his death in 1937, he joined forces with his first son Robert and jointly managed E. Goyard et fils .
In 1937, Robert Goyard embodied the brand during the post-war growth.
Like his father, Robert ran the store until his death in 1979.
In 1965, he redesigned and deposited the flexible woven Goyard canvas.
In 1968 , he revisited the drawing by simplifying it.
In 1951 , Jean Edmond Francois Goyard, son of Robert, entered the company's share capital, which he transformed into a public limited company.
In 1979 , when Robert died, Jean Edmond Francois took over, with his daughter Isabelle Goyard , the business which was in decline.
In 1998 , Jean-Michel Signoles , a French businessman, former owner and creator of the Chipie brand , took over the management of the house.
Reissue of the black Goyardine canvas.
He built new workshops in Carcassonne, where he was originally from.
In 2002 The variations of the goyardine canvas in twelve colors is the first sign of a takeover of the Signoles family.
Made famous by its herringbone canvas, the brand communicates very little. However, its prestige is enormous because it supplies stylists of great renown like Coco Chanel or Karl Lagerfeld and stars like Madonna or Victoria Beckham.
Today the house is still managed by Jean-Michel Signoles, his four sons and his wife Laurence.
Today La Goyardine is available in 13 colors.
Also limited edition like the pink Goyardine.

All the colors of Maison Goyard's canvas require four successive passes in order to paint the Goyard motif in four colors.
It is manually that we apply the induction, which makes it possible to obtain the color pigments, on the surface of the canvas using a cadrette that we move (serigraphy).
Every eight passes, the silk threads that compose it must be cleaned with plenty of water to avoid clogging.
The Goyard house has always refused to automate this process. Each point is particular in its finesse, rhythm and irregularities.
An apparently insensitive thermal amplitude during drying can also influence the density of the colors obtained.
Each canvas becomes unique.
