REPAIR OF TWO LOUIS VUITTON CABIN TRUNK BRASS CLASPS

When we received this lovely old Louis Vuitton trunk, a Louis Vuitton cabin model from the 1920s. We were immediately won over by its size of 80 cm.  

Unfortunately the brasses have been brushed, the lock tinkered with, and the two clasps completely broken!

We therefore had to  disassemble the clasps completely. Then cut from a block of brass , with a file we sculpt the damaged part identically. This shaping is done by hand in the traditional way . This is the know-how of our workshops.

After polishing the result is perfect and it will be impossible to determine if the part is replaced because it respects the appearance, the materials and the original shape . The rest of the elements are 100% original, it is a restoration in the rules of the art.
