As surprising as it may seem, the major problem is the presence inside the snow globes of trapped dust. Because the globes have not been cleaned before gluing.

All models are affected by this issue. And at first glance, there is no dust, but exposed to the rays of the sun (or direct light) then you will be able to see with horror that the glass is dirty.

The more dust there is, the more the price drops from -20% to -70%, because you cannot fully appreciate the details of the content.

As a restorer, thanks to our years of experience, we have set up a unique process for dismantling, cleaning and gluing the globes in order to (re) find the cleanliness of a perfectly cleaned glass.

In the most extreme cases where the glass is broken, we called on a French craftsman, specialized in glass blowing, to make replacement glass. This craftsman works for national museums, luxury watchmaking, but also the LVMH group including Louis Vuitton...

This project is particularly complex and expensive, because each new glass must respect precise dimensions, in fact the glass must fit into the groove of the metal base of the snow globe, the tolerance is only 1 millimeter . We had to have a mold made for several thousand euros.

Each glass is unique, because mouth-blown one by one, they are works of art in their own right. Even if more upscale than the original one manufactured industrially in Asia, this glass is not an original Louis Vuitton piece. It will bring you an extra soul while giving new life to your precious defective snow globes.
